The development of society requires full participation by all sections of the population including women. It is realized by all nations that mobilizing women to take up entrepreneurial activities can ensure social and economic changes. Moreover, the north-east is a region of India where more women are involved in income generation activities than women of other parts of the country. There is enough potential for developing entrepreneurship among women. They require help and guidance to take up entrepreneurial activity.
Considering the above, Tripura Women’s Welfare Society (TWWS) (a Non-Government Organization) was established and registered under Societies Registration Act 1860, Govt. of Tripura on 12th day of September, 2005 . One of its main activities is to promote entrepreneurship among unemployed rural and urban youth (Women) for self-empowerment by organizing Entrepreneurship Development programs / income generation activities and counseling’s etc.
